These meetings offer whānau who are supporting family members with mental health challenges or issues with addiction a place to share experiences and build support networks. You will also have the opportunity to hear from guest speakers on topics relating to mental health and addiction. Meetings are held on the second Thursday of every second month 6.30 pm – 8.30pm. Families/Friends Understanding Disordered Eating
These support groups provide support and information to people with a loved one experiencing an eating disorder. Whānau members come together to discuss experiences, share ideas, listen to experts and develop strategies for coping. The Families/Friends Understanding Disordered Eating Group offers a way to connect with those dealing with similar issues. Meetings are held on the third Wednesday of every month 5.30pm to 7.00pm. Weekly Peer Support Group
This is an informal support group for whānau members (of all ages) who are actively supporting a loved one with either mental health or addiction issues. This group offers a safe and confidential space with friendship, conversation, empathy and understanding.
